some evidence to support me and archer’s predictions fox sports

BBC feature on Scolari’s Chelsea club. Another prediction though they put ManU at # 1 which will put a smile on Kirima’s face.

and Archer’s commentary:

It’s evident that Chelsea has the stronger squad this season, with new manager LFS giving the players confidence. Thus, our key players Petr Cech, Frank Lampard & Michael Essien have all agreed to new long term contracts. Plus our weak spot in right back has been covered by one Bosingwa. Our defence and midfield are second to none in Europe. Our two keepers are the best in England, maybe even Europe if not for one Gianluigi Buffon. The attack is not as strong as I’d have expected, with those clowns Sheva & Pizarro still under CFC employment. But Drogba, Kalou, Anelka (who showed excellent form in pre season) & Franco di Santo pack enough lethal firepower, and Robinho might be arriving from Real Madrid.

i am satisfied with the attack even without Robinho especially if Scolari can get better results from Sheva.

Man U fans Kirima & Supreme GREAM, lets be realistic for a minute here. Last season our squad was demoralized after the Special One Mourinho left and was replaced by the inexperienced Avram Grant. We lost our key players to Africa Cup of Nations, and with all that happening, we still pushed Man U all the way to the wire in both the Premiership & Champions League. For a team basically running on autopilot, you have to give us props for that achievement. Now with none of those distractions and with Scolari, whose track record speaks for itself, we’re definitely going to fire from all cylinders this season.

we lost by a missed penalty in the Champions League and like Archer said with a robot on the sidelines…I bet we will be clear by more than 10 points

Man Utd relied heavily on Cristina Ronaldo last season. But I doubt he will be able to replicate his 42 goal season this time round.

and with Ronaldo out Man U ties Newcastle in their first game. Chelsea 4-0 over Portsmouth.

Several pre season reviews, including BBC & The Times, strongly favour Chelsea as being the force to reckon with this season. I don’t doubt them for a second.

    My prediction:

    1. Chelsea FC
    2. Manchester United.
    3. Liverpool
    4. Tottenham Hotspur or maybe Portsmouth
    5. Arsenal.

    great anaysis Archer!

  2. Great analysis Archer on paper that is!
I always hold character and resilience as the key to winning championships. arsenal is good at winning games but lousy in winning championships and that is why they have never won the championship league.
Chelsea last season weren’t resilient to the last second. Luck also plays a part 🙂 i.e slippery pitch.
That said ManU needs to sign in a new stricker ASAP

Kirima, ati slippery pitch…you bet that luck won’t be on your side this season. ebu look at the standings right now…it will be like that the whole season!

  3. @3N: check out this very well written Chelsea blog, it’s the best I’ve come across so far. http://www.bluechampions.com. I doubt that Scolari can squeeze anything out of Sheva. He should be loaned out to CSKA Moscow until his contract expires!

@Kirima: luck does play a role in football, just as I still maintain that Man U won the Champions League by luck! John Terry is a defender and his specialty isn’t taking penalties. Man U are bound to land Berbatov and let Louis Saha go, but we’ll do one better and get Robinho!

  4. Nimekuja hapa (juu Archer practically dragged me) and you know what….Archer and 3N I am putting down that same £5 (I dont hardly gamble hence a fiver) I put during Champions League and got chums that Man U will chukua that Cup again.

If Chealsea do….the winnings are yours. Sawa?

Now to watch this argument from the sidelines and wait patiently for May!

count me in on the £5 bet, Chelsea will finish at the top of the table – Premier League!

  5. @Mocha: why only the Premiership? Are you doubtful that Man Utd won’t stumble across the luck that won them the Champions League?? Good to see that you’re being realistic. Can I M PESA you £10 you bet for me (obviously that Chelsea will win the Premiership this season) I wouldn’t mind a ka loose windfall!

  6. Archer & 3N you should be glad I don’t do predictions or bets (actually humble pie gives me severe indigestion!) anyway its way too early to dismiss ManU last year we also got of to a bad start its not how you start that matters it is how you finish. Remember Arsenal were leading up to January last season
Sir Alex’s lineup is fine just a little tuneup upfront yes we need a striker like Berbatov to cover the periods when Rooney will be on suspension (that is given!)

  7. *whitsling* mimi iko ngoja tu!
But I agree, Ronaldo cannot and will not replicate his form of last season! And he has mob distractions and sideshows!
Did anyone see the picture of him some weeks back? He was soo tanned he looked like a piece of wood! But to be fair I have always been biased against him! He should have just left and become irrlelevant wherever it is he wanted to go! I think we have seen the best of him!
As for Sheva, why are we talking about him? didnt he fall off the radar a while back? He should heve been given a free transfer to twente twente

  8. I remember last season we started poorly just like this season. Ronaldo was on suspension, Saha with his chronic knee injury out, Teves was yet to report, Rooney was out with injury, John Oshea the utility man acting as this season not very different. Teves out with family matters, Christiano injury, a mature and much improved Nani on suspension, Saha still in injury list, we just lost Carrick! But its all good, we going to be fine. I feel like we suffering a hangover just like 1999/2000 season. I wish Fergie would sign Benzema waaaaaay better than Berbatov. The Brazilian twins are coming along well so am still optimistic about this season.

But I agree with Archer when he says you have the best squad this season and probably the most optimistic team with a good hell of a manager (if such english exists!). Deco was a master signing and I am praying sooooo hard you dont get that magician Robihno.

  9. I am a fan of Chelsea too….well, because my small bro is fan…but I do love the game, can’t wait for the new season to heat up.

  10. Update: Sheva returns to San Siro Retirement Home, Pizarro loaned out to Werder Bremen, SWP at the door already. Robinho’s signing is imminent. We shall be a lean mean football machine!

all the best to Sheva, it never worked out with us. I am a little weary of Robinho…can he live up to his billing in PL given he wasn’t world class last year? Is Kaka too much of a reach? Maybe we can let Drogba go and chase after Kaka

  11. We meet Chelsea after Liverpool. Atleast Nani and hopefully Giggs too will be back. I watched our game on Monday and this was a mid field, Scholes, Oshea, Fletcher, a tired Anderson. No winger! Not even Johny Evans! The best I expected from us was a draw but we managed to grind out some valuable 3 points!

  12. Its very exciting to see the blues having a good start in these new season hope they will keep the pace on and clinch the title.im glad they are no such changes in the team and hope players will work together effectively.
pliz guys don’t let us down we are behind u.

  13. Hi! I am one of the most Chelsea fans in my village but my colleagues do insult me about my most loving striker which is D. Drogba, that I’m having a single striker. Please do something good to this before the fans are leaving the lovely club.
